Provider #50 | February 2026

Dear Stakers and Delegators,

We want to be fully transparent about a configuration issue we discovered and how we're making it right. Your rewards are safe, and this update explains exactly what happened, what we're doing about it, and when you'll receive your funds.

TL;DR

  • Issue: Our sequencer's coinbase was misconfigured, so rewards went to our address instead of your Split contracts
  • Impact: 37,520 AZTEC across 13 delegators
  • Fix: Configuration corrected. Full distribution will happen within 30 minutes of TGE
  • Your action: None required — funds will appear in your Split contract automatically

What Happened

When operating as an Aztec staking provider, the system creates a Split contract for each delegation. This contract automatically divides rewards between you (the delegator) and us (the provider) according to the agreed commission rate.

The provider is expected to set this Split contract as the sequencer's coinbase (fee recipient). We made a mistake: our coinbase was set to our operational address instead.

Coinbase address that received rewards:

0x8eB1525446532032b32D2f3Bb6d776E3BfBa22f6

The result: All 37,520 AZTEC in sequencer rewards accumulated in our address rather than flowing to your Split contracts.

What We've Done

  1. Identified the issue and traced all affected delegations
  2. Corrected the configuration — Split contracts are now properly set as coinbase
  3. Built distribution tooling — tested scripts to ensure accurate, verifiable distribution
  4. Implemented safeguards to prevent this from happening again

Your Rewards

We analyzed on-chain data to calculate each delegator's share based on blocks produced.

How We're Giving You 100%

Our standard commission is 5%, which normally works like this:

  • Your sequencer earns 5,600 AZTEC
  • Split takes 5% → you receive 5,320 AZTEC

Due to our configuration error, we're waiving our commission entirely for these rewards. To give you 100%, we're adding 5% extra from our own funds:

  • Your sequencer earned: 5,600 AZTEC
  • We send to Split: 5,895 AZTEC (earned + 5% from us)
  • After split: 5,600 AZTEC → you receive 100%

We're adding 1,974 AZTEC from our own funds to ensure every delegator receives 100% of what their sequencer earned.

Distribution Plan

When

Distribution happens after TGE when rewards become claimable from the Rollup contract. We will complete the entire process within 30 minutes of claiming ability.

How

1. Claim rewards from Aztec Rollup contract
              ↓
2. Transfer your share to your Split contract
              ↓
3. Trigger distribution on each Split contract
              ↓
4. You withdraw from your Split contract

Your Action Required

None. Your funds will automatically appear in your Split contract. After we trigger distribution, you can withdraw at your convenience.

You can also verify on Etherscan:

  • Your Split contract received the correct amount
  • Distribution was triggered
  • Your withdrawable balance matches your rewards

How 0xSplits Works

Aztec uses Pull Splitters from 0xSplits v2:

  1. When you staked with us, Aztec created a Split contract for your delegation
  2. The Split is configured to divide rewards between you and us (based on our take rate)
  3. Funds don't auto-forward — someone must trigger "distribute"
  4. After distribution, you can withdraw your balance

Important: Sending tokens to the Split contract is not enough. We must call distribute() for you to see claimable funds. We handle this automatically.

Verification & Transparency

After distribution, we will publish:

  • ✅ Transaction hash for each transfer
  • ✅ Transaction hash for each distribution trigger
  • ✅ Block confirmations
  • ✅ Links to verify on Etherscan
  • ✅ 0 ETH marker transaction to each Split (on-chain transparency record)

Our Commitment

We take full responsibility for this configuration error.

0% Commission — We're Covering the Split (One-Time Adjustment)

As a sign of trust and good-will, we are giving you 100% of the rewards earned by the sequencer.

Due to our configuration error, we're waiving our 5% commission for these rewards. Instead of taking our share, we're adding 5% from our own funds:

Total Rewards Provider 50 We Add Total to Split After 95% Split
37,520 AZTEC +1,974 39,494 AZTEC 37,520 AZTEC

Result: You receive exactly 100% what your sequencer earned. We cover the 5% from our own funds.

⚠️ Important: This 0% commission is a one-time adjustment specifically for this incident. After this distribution is complete, our normal 5% provider commission continues for all future rewards as per our standard terms.
